On a listing page I finds the terminology inconsistent – ‘Edit this Post’ = ‘Edit this Listing,’ ‘Favorite’ = ‘Favourite’ in UK English not US English, ‘Business Owner’ = ‘Claim Listing.’

Could these be updated in the future?

    Thx

    Hi,

GD is provided in en_US as default language, not UK. All these changes can be made via translation files:

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/category/translation/

Please check links 1 and 2.

    Thanks

    Hi Paolo,

I set the default language in WP as stated as English UK but it hasn’t changed the spelling of ‘Favorite?’

    thx

    Hi Alistair,

the only language file that comes included with GD is en_US, please read the documentation to find out how to create a en_UK file and modify anything as you see fit.

    Thanks

    Hi Paulo,

I have followed the GD translation information to the best of my ability but nothing has changed.

I must have done something wrong.

    Please can you help me?

    Thanks

    Hi,

it looks like you haven’t done anything that is explained here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/translate-core/

Please follow the text tutorial. It’s 6 easy points.

    1. Download poedit or check here for alternatives http://codex.wordpress.org/Translating_WordPress
    2. Open the .po file for GD core in poedit, this is located in the core plugin language folder geodirectory/geodirectory-languages/geodirectory-en_US.po, if you are translating to another language the you should copy this file and rename it, for example if translating to french you would rename the file geodirectory-fr_FR.po
    3. Translate GD core in poedit and save it to create the .mo file.
    4. Upload the .mo file in our case “geodirectory-en_US.po” to your wordpress language folder, usually your wordpress language folder will be /wp-content/languages/ if the languages folder does not exist then just create it.  Then we use the textdomain for GD core which is “geodirectory” and create a sub folder, so eventually our file path should look like this:/wp-content/languages/geodirectory/geodirectory-en_US.mo
    5. If you have not set the language of your website yet, you do that by going to your wp-admin area, and then go to Settings > General > Site language and select your language there.
    6. Go to your homepage and refresh to see your changes 🙂

Hi again, in wp-content/languages you haven’t created a folder geodirectory and I don’t see the file geodirectory-en_UK.mo anywhere, so I can’t check if it’s been created correctly.

Unless I’m looking at the wrong website, which one is it? There are 3…
