Looking to show a drop down of event categories only with location input field

    I have the design for the most part complete on this project but I need some customizing to my site. I am looking to have on the landing page a form with a drop down of the event categories created only and a input field next to it for inputting location. I am looking to get the same feature implemented on the search results pages as well. I am using the supreme theme.

    Do you mean you want help with the Advanced Search addon? See https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/search-filters-overview/#filter

    Or you got something else in mind?

    Yes and I have gone over that page numerous time. It does not work the way I want it to. Either I am doing something wrong or the system does not work the way I am anticipating it to.

    Can you first update all GD core and addons and also both DIrectory starter and supreme theme.

    It looks like I have everything updated now. Supreme Directory Theme is version 1.0.8 on my site but on your website I see the most current being 1.05. Not sure if that is an issue or how that is even possible but just wanted to bring that up. But it should be good to go

    I made sure there is at least one event in each category, so now they will show if clicking the “customize search” icon.

    Thanks for that but it still does not have the functionality I am looking for. I am looking to have only the event categories as being shown in the advance search area to be in the main search drop down (see attachment it should explain). Currently it only shows Places and Events. You only can see the categories via Advanced Search which is not what I am looking for.

    This is the only functionality I need everything else seems fine but I can not figure out how to get this done or some code insight to customize it to make this happen.

    Hi,

    currently that is not possible, but the next version of the Advance Search Add-on will include that feature.

    That should be released before the end of the week.

    Is there an update on the release for the new update for Advance Search Add-on? Havent seen any new updates on this plug in yet.

    We added some more features so are currently testing them, hopefully it will be out on Monday.

    If you would like to beta test them please provide FTP info and i will upload them.

    Yes it is included in this release.
    GD>Place/Event Settings>Advanced Search>Category>Show in main search bar?>Yes
