I have over 500 standard WordPress posts which I am converting to GeoDirectory CPTs eg “shopping”, “business”, “trades”, etc. Each of these CPTs have subcategories.
I have converted 40 posts so far from four post categories using post type switcher plugin.
However when converting, the following happens:
• Post Categories are lost even though the same category names exist for the CPTs. They appear in the designated CPT as uncategorised.
• Featured images are lost
• Post titles are lost
• Custom post Fields need mapping to equivalent fields on the CPT listing forms; even with same field name, eg Phone, they remain as custom fields and therefore not part of the CPT information
• Although Popular categories widget displays, and number of relevant posts displayed (eg Antiques (5)) the map is grey and the message “No Records Found. Sorry, no record were found. Please adjust your search criteria and try again.”
• I have created a top level category for one of the CPTs (SHOPPING) and put the other categories beneath this but it make no difference.
Is this a problem with converting WP posts to CPTs? I would not want to have to manually re-enter the data from 500 posts (imported from an earlier directory installation on a different platform(.
Any advice welcome: I can send url and admins.
