I will have 2 Search pages – one is set up “search by Location” here :http://rmcc.bwwtest.com/locations/
As I stated on a previous post I need to have this type of search http://compassoncology.com/locations-physicians/ except I’m having a separate page for Providers and one for Locations
Here is my page for Providers:
http://rmcc.bwwtest.com/providers/But what I need is for it to say:
Physicians and Advanced Practice Provider in the first field (drop down for each) NO Location here
Name
Specialty
Zip CodeOn this page It says CUSTOM SEARCH – I just want to have what I’ve listed above. How do I do that?
http://rmcc.bwwtest.com/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_physicians&s=andorsky&snear=&sgd_physicianscategory%5B%5D=76&sgeo_lat=&sgeo_lon=Thanks for your help!

October 8, 2016 at 1:50 am #279497Why don’t you use the normal GD pages?
http://rmcc.bwwtest.com/physicians/ is ready to search physicians, and http://rmcc.bwwtest.com/places/ is ready to search locations. If you want the dropdown to read “Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers”, change the plural name of the custom post type.
PS: “We guarantee an answer within 24 hours to all Support Topic Monday to Friday and within 48 hours during weekends. This doesn’t mean all solutions will be provided within 24 or 48 hrs. For more advanced or technical queries it may as well take longer.”
https://wpgeodirectory.com/support-policy/October 8, 2016 at 4:35 pm #279772I am using those pages. I don’t think you understand what I need. I need the custom search fields that I asked about
I need the Physician “search page” to search by Name, Specialty or Zip as I explain in my original post.

October 8, 2016 at 5:35 pm #279792The advance search widget, if used in custom pages, will always show the default custom post type in the 1st field.
If used in a CPT archive page (places and physicians), the CPT will be auto-selected for the visited CPT.
I asked to the developers if it’s possible to add a new parameter for the shortcode to allow to select the CPT to show as default, in each page where the shortcode is used.
That would be the only workaround to achieve exactly what you want.
They’ll let us know asap.
Thanks
October 8, 2016 at 5:59 pm #279801its not really possible to add this as a shortcode parameter as it uses a global value so things hooking into it can also know the CPT.
I have added a hook “geodir_get_current_posttype” which might work to “trick” it, when the next version is released (hopefully monday) remind me to make you a code snippet to test, otherwise it might be easier to add some JS to quickly change the value on load.
Thanks,
Stiofan
October 8, 2016 at 7:44 pm #279840My client wants these search parameters exactly and this is the whole reason we went with GD. I asked pre-sales questions and showed this example and was told it would do that and more.
I’m glad you’re looking into a solution. Thank you.
October 10, 2016 at 5:10 pm #280592Any progress on this?
Thanks!
October 10, 2016 at 5:50 pm #280656We will be releasing tomorrow morning and then we can implement a solution for you.
Thanks,
Stiofan

October 11, 2016 at 7:03 pm #281648Hi! I see you released the update today! I’m SO excited. Can you please tell me now how I can implement this to get the search I need?
Thanks!!
October 11, 2016 at 7:08 pm #281649Hi Kim,
After the release i have actually added the post_type as a global shortcode parameter, if you can provide wp-admin and FTP details i will upload it for you or i will likely release it tomorrow.
Thanks,
Stiofan
