GMap – Homepage Widget

    Hi,

    after I installed the CPT widget, I deleted all the ,places’ stuff and set up a new category. But now the GMap-Homepage widget doesn’t work anymore. It comes up with an error:
    No Records Found
    Sorry, no record were found. Please adjust your search criteria and try again.
    I checked all the settings in General, Design, etc but couldn’t find anything.

    What´s wrong? How can I change the widget. It seems that it still searches for a ,Places’ category?

    Hi Guido, can you post your URL and WP admin details in a private reply, so we can check your settings?
    I am guessing you might still have Places as default at GD > design > map > Default post type search on map
    Or have places in draft or the bin.

    You have selected your new CPT not to have addresses or appear on the map, see GD > General > Select CPT to disable physical location

    You will need to create a new CPT and delete the existing one, see the WARNING on that page.

    Hi Guust,

    thanks. But now nothing works anymore. I don’t have any content on my homepage. Only a sidebar and the footer. No possibility to add a widget in any other section.

    And I also couldn’t really delete CPT. I deactivated it, then I deleted it and as soon as I reinstall it all old entries are again there???

    Do not delete the CPT plugin, but the unternehmen custom post type.
    Then create it again.

    No chance for me! I do what you say and nothing changes. All is set to unternehmen and it always shows this damned places in the map.

    Again the error:

    No Records Found
    Sorry, no record were found. Please adjust your search criteria and try again.

    But: In the lower left corner of the map it changed from places to unternehmen.
    And: If you click on either oner of the categories Dienstleister, Dosimetrie etc. it shows you the map in the sidebar with the right address!?

    Please empty all your caches or try another browser, it all looks fine to me now.

    Hi Guust,
    only one more thing. When I add the GMap Home page widget to any other content or side bar area no map will show up. I see only a box with a white background.

    GD Home Map is only for GD Home sections.
    I cannot see where you tried to add it.

    I can see it just fine towards the bottom of http://wordpress-201610120909.p205935.webspaceconfig.de/location/

    The GD Home section is for location pages only, not for your homepage, if you use a WP page.

    I also corrected your homepage settings again:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/basic-installation/#home

    If you use a WP page for the homepage of your site, you need to use /location for the start page of your directory section.

    Guust, thanks again!!! Now I´m where I wanted to be. I didn’t know that there is a difference between Theme-Homepage and using GD as Homepage.
