Getting some errors trying to import CSV. Can’t seem to find the issue as it imports most of the list just fine. The error messages are not of any help in narrowing down the problems.

    “Total 238 item(s) found.
    161 / 238 item(s) added.
2 / 238 item(s) could not be added due to blank/invalid address(city, region, country, latitude, longitude).
75 / 238 item(s) could not be added due to blank title/invalid post type/invalid characters used in data.
Please trasfer all images in ‘/wp_content/uploads /2016/10 ‘ folder.”

Please see attached CVS. Would greatly appreciate some assistance.

“Unknown” is not a valid latitude or longitude.
    See https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-export/#mandatory

    Not valid either: 3410’4.21″S

You should not enter post_IDs unless you are updating existing listings.

Thank you, can the “unknown” fields be left blank instead?

    Hi,

no lat and lon are mandatory fields. The maps will not work without them.

You can find them with services like this if need:

    http://mygeoposition.com/
    http://www.findlatitudeandlongitude.com/

    Thanks

Thanks, I have made the suggested amendments, but continue to have problems importing all of the data.

    “Total 186 item(s) found.
    129 / 186 item(s) added.
57 / 186 item(s) could not be added due to blank title/invalid post type/invalid characters used in data.”

I can’t identify those 57 entries that won’t import or what they all have in common? Please see attached CSV.

    Many thanks

You seem to have pasted some records from other programs, for example Schrder Guesthouse
I suggest you export whatever you have been able to import, so you can work out the ones that did not import. Then you might get a better idea what the error is.

is_featured should be left empty or 1 for yes

post_date should be in this format or left empty: 2016-03-10 13:39:31

All columns with image references should have IMAGE in the header column

Always the best idea to add a few listings manually and then export them, then you can see the correct formatting required.

Hi that is what I did, added listings and used that as a template. Yes we are importing data that I pulled and parsed from another system.

What worked was, I opened the CSV in Open Office, selected UTF-8 and overwrote the original CSV. I guess the Char type was the issue. It seems to ave imported everything now.
