Can't remove Geodirectory from homepage

I have recently installed the core Geodirectory plugin and I am currently using the ‘GDF Modern’ child theme.

I am wanting to have the Geodirectory homepage to not be my website homepage. I have changed the Geodirectory permalink setting ‘GD Home page’ to be a different page on my website (a new page I called ‘directory’). I have also changed the WordPress settings> reading> front page displays> front page to be a new blank home page.

When I go to my website homepage (which should be blank now), I am still seeing the same content as the new ‘directory’ page (the new GD Homepage). I have tried changing my themes and this problem remains the same. I have also tried re-installing the Geodirectory plugin and still no change.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
