I don't want "Places" category showing at all

Hi. I am setting up a yellow pages like directory for solicitors so simply need my website to have a “search for solicitors” in “town/city” on the home page. I added the GeoDirectory because it was recommended for business directory listings and thought the plug in would achieve the look I was aiming for.

When I downloaded the free plug in I had no choice but to buy the “custom post types” plug in so I could add bespoke categories namely Solicitors. However I find that I still cannot achieve the basic mapping for my website. Also, all I want to show on the map (which has disappeared since I removed the restaurants hotels etc from the website is flags where the solicitors are located on the map not places. Please can anyone provide me with some assistance?

Hi Tariq,

I’d like you to know that you can’t remove the default places post type but instead you can change the default post type “Places” to “Solicitors” following the method from this section of the documentation https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/how-do-i-change-place-and-places/ . Well, let us know how it goes.
