social importer user access level?

I’ve been using Social importer successfully for a while as admin, but now releasing the site, I had expected that it would be useable by regular site visitors on the front end to create listings. However, I’m finding that only users with admin privileges get a full import of information. For other users like author and editor I’m finding it only imports the Title of the Facebook page. No other images or fields. I can’t find any documentation on this but sure seems like any user should be able to import.

Is this the way it’s supposed to work? Can only admins do Social Import? (I sure hope not). Is there a setting somewhere I missed?
