Duplicating site from live to staging problems

Without knowing the procedure used to clone the website, we are not able to tell you what is going wrong.

Are you backing up all database tables, including GD custom tables?

Normally it is pretty straight forward and that procedure is correct if you edited the database to update the domain name and any directory paths with a tool that doesn’t break serialized strings.

Something like better search and replace plugin for example. If you did it with notepad or similar, that could be the cause.

Please provide a link and admin credentials of the faulty website and also cpanel please in case we need FTP.

The developers will look into it.

I wouldn’t use a plugin. I’d backup and move all files via SSH, export/import the db via phpmyadmin and I’d use this tool to search and replace URL instances
