    Hello,

I am experimenting with the Add Listing Settings and have a few questions. Please refer to the attached snapshot…

    1. What is the purpose of the “Link For Sale” drop down field, “Fill in Business Details” button? Depending on your answer, if I do not want to keep it, is there a way to make it Active or Inactive?

    2. Is there an option to make the “Import Details From Social” field, Active or Inactive?

    3. Tag Keywords field. Is there an option to make this field Active or Inactive?

    4. The Address/Country/Region/Zip Code, Email, and Phone fields – For user security and privacy, is there a way to alter or hide some of these details, in an effort to give privacy to those who create listings?

For example, if a private party lists a motorcycle for sale, disclosing the zip code for purposes of populating the listing on the map, or narrowing search results, makes sense.

However, disclosing the exact location of someone’s private home, in public classifieds ads, is not safe.

    Thanks!

    1. You have selected to link your For Sale CPT with another CPT. Turn that back off.
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/linking-custom-post-types/

    2. De-activate the Social Importer addon.

    3. Hide with CSS, or set to zero in your price packages.

    4. You can turn off the display of any of them, by removing them at the custom field settings. See
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-place-settings/#show
You can also hide with CSS.

    Hi @guust

    Thanks for the quick reply.

    1. Perfect.

    2. I need to research that feature more to understand it better. You have a link to a good tutorial or video?

    3. I put zero and it worked perfect.

    4. Need a little clarification. If I turn off the custom fields off, do I get the following results?

    A) Address/City/State etc. – If I turn it OFF will it still display in the map?

    B) Email – If I turn it OFF, how does someone contact the owner of the listing?

    Thanks for your help!

    2. https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/social-importer-addon/
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/downloads/social-importer/

    4. You should NOT turn off the custom fields, only the DISPLAY of the information.
It will not affect the map, because there is an address and matching lat and lng.

Email will never be displayed. It creates a contact form in the sidebar of the listing.
    Example: https://wpgeo.directory/hotels/chicago/3-stars/acme-hotel/
Look in the sidebar: “send enquiry”

    Hi @guust

    4. Forgive me, but I’m not following you completely. You are saying to turn off the custom fields, (address), but only the DISPLAY of the information? What does that mean, and if I turn off the address, how the does the map populate a location without an address?

Thanks for helping. I appreciate your patience. 🙂

Do NOT de-activate the address, but remove where the info will SHOW.
[I corrected my earlier typo – omitting “NOT” does change the meaning 🙁 ]

    Hi @guust

Circling back to this. I played with the Details page, and I’m not seeing the “Send Inquiry” link in the right side bar, you mentioned. (See snapshot attached)

I’m sure I’m doing something wrong. Mind pointing me in the right direction, please?

    Thanks

Is an email address added to the default email custom field?
Does the price package allow for the email address to be added?
Did you remove the default email custom field from showing in the sidebar?
