Post to Facebook problem

We have moved to a support ticketing system and our forums are now closed.

    Hi Guys.
    we are using the Social importer to populate the site. However, upon publishing activate the posts, it submits to my Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/findernetwork/
    it places an active link back to the correct post, but also places an image box “Page not found” on the FB page. please view the FB and advise where, what and how I can fix this.
    OR
    how I can stop the initial FB post submission, until a client pays.

    Hi,

    you can only stop it or send to facebook when published (paid or not).

    If you want to stop it go to GeoDirectory >> Social Importer and adjust your settings.

    The reason why the image is not appearing with the post on facebook, could be because Facebook is not crawling your website.

    Using their debugging tool https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/ you can amke sure the URL is crawled correctly and the image finally grabbed.

    I asked Stiofan to see if there is anything we can do to improve this, or if the burden is 100% on facebook side.

    I did as you recommended and checked all info on FB
    I included screen for debug info
    I believe I identified the issue:
    when entering a new business and publish, it submits the following URL:
    http://businessfinder.pw/?post_type=gd_place&p=548%2F
    with no images and no content

    which is the correct business, but does not load the details

    using the debug I entered the actual page URL (see screenshot)
    it fetched the page with images correctly, but also shows two error messages

    I hope that helps better to analyze what has to be adjusted in the program

    Just reviewed updates in today’s WP 4.7 and saw the following:

    Embeds
    Add oEmbed support for Facebook posts/activities/photo/videos/media/questions/notes.

    will this be a change implementation for us?
    I did not upgrade yet, always wait a week to read about anticipated issues

    This can happen if your page take too long to respond, you can use that facebook debug tool and click “scrape again” this will retroactively fix it on facebook.

    4.7 changes wont change things.

    after checking and rechecking
    the directory submits the following link to FB
    http://businessfinder.pw/?post_type=gd_place&p=546%2F

    and not the permalink, which is:
    http://businessfinder.pw/business/california/mountain-view/cosmetic-surgery/pearl-plastic-surgery-center/

    Even if an image and content would be showing, the link is still not SEO friendly as a backlink.
    However
    I went into the directory site and re-post to Facebook, and that post is now perfectly showing, with the correct permalink.

    So it is the initial publish function, which submits the post ID instead of the permalink URL.
    Not sure, if this can be changed in your program coding, to send perma URL link to FB.
