    Hi,

    i love geodirectory plugin, but i have a serious requirement:
    How can i let the user rate a place and simultaneously give him the chance to add other categories to this place?
    For example: I have a restaurant with the standard category “restaurant”. Additionally i want the user to add a more detailed category like “vegetarian” or “stakehouse”, e.g..
    How can i do this (ideally within the rating form or in a step directly after submitting the rating form).

    You would make me so happy, if i could get help with this case!

    Thanks and best regards

    Benny

    Hi Benny, only listing owners and admins can change the categories of a listing. Sorry.

    Ok. Thats so sad ;(.
    Do you have any idea, if i can use an additional plugin for my needs? Maybe taxonomies?
    In fact i need a more detailed filter over criterias, that users added. This can also be a description or something similar?

    Other users cannot add anything to somebody else’s listing.
    But they can add things to their own reviews, have a look at
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-comment-fields/
    I know that works with GD.

    Yes, i already installed that plugin, but i have a problem with it: the new boxes are showing in the review form, but the content added in the fields does not show up in the reviews.

    When i set a field as required i always get the message that there must be something inserted. Any idea?

    Have you set the custom post types?
    A required field cannot be blank.
    Please seek assistance at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wp-comment-fields
    Thanks

    Unfortunately the site is hosted in an internal network. So there is no way to get access to it at the moment… Can u give me a hint, where the problem could be located? THX!

    Ok. Custom Fields work now. But do you have any idea, how i can show a specific field in the template?
    i found this code:
    echo $comment_meta_key = $meta[‘customertype’];
    $comment_meta_val = get_comment_meta($comment -> comment_ID, $comment_meta_key, true);

    but it doesn’t work in the template functions.php.

    thanks and best regards!

    Hi Benny – I’m having the same problem with the WP Comments Field plug-in. How did you get it to work? I am trying to get info via the support WP Comments plugin forum but not hearing anything. Any tips you could provide would be very welcome!
    Thanks!
    Jen
