Hi. I was in the Geodirectory within my WP editing and went to the GD tools and pages check. I asked it to fix what it said was wrong with the home page and now one of my site pages has been deleted. Is there a way to restore it and undo this? The page was one of my site’s pages where the directory was to be housed. Thanks!

    Hi Micole,

Have you checked the “trash” and see if the page is still there? If it’s a GD home page, you can easily create another one as explained here https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/basic-installation/#home . If you still need help, please share WP temp admin access to your site so we can take a better look. You can post the details here using the private reply option below.

    Hi Micole,

I’m not sure I understand the problem, all GD Pages are where they should and you don’t have any page in the trash bin.

Can you please try to explain the problem with more details?

    Thanks

    Hello,

The only way you could have lost the homepage with the fix is if you did all these things:
    #1 GD>Permalinks>homepage, set a new page
#2 delete the page you set as homepage
#3 kept the original GD homepage but never changed the slug from “gd-home”

In this situation the tool will see the page id you set for the homepage does not exist anymore and there must be a problem, to resolve all problems it will delete any page with the gd-home slug and recreate it as a new page.

If this is what happened they only way to get the info back is if your host has DB backups (most do)

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

Hi. I believe now that it renamed the page to locations and the layout changed. It used to be called “destinations” and was one of the selections on my homepage header. I don’t know if there is a way to backtrack – can you tell me? Thanks. If it’s to go to a backup I will just do that.

    Hi,

there is no undo, you’ll need to use a back up.

    Thanks
