First of all, I want users to only be allowed comment/review and select favourites. All listings are added by admin.
I created a test user, but even though I had removed “Allow post type to add from frontend” in GeoDirectory > Design > Navigation, I was still able to post a listing from the add-listing page as the newly created user. Granted, I had to type in the url, but anybody who knows GeoDirectory could easily do that as well. So I changed the status of add listing page to draft. I’m only telling this in case you have a better solution for making sure new users only can comment.
Now to my problem with the gd-login page.
I created a link in the footer menu and I also have used the My Dasboard widget. It works fine registering a new user. But once that user has logged out, the straight link to gd-login page in the footer doesn’t work anymore, only redirects to the homepage. The dashboard widget’s “New user? Register now” or “forgot password” links don’t work anymore, it only redirects to the homepage. If the browser has stored login credentials they can sign in through the my Dashboard widget. But a new user can’t be registered or a forgotten password dealt with. The only way to make it work again is to clear history/cookies. Then the gd-login page will load again as normal.

This looks like a cache issue. But it’s hard to tell without performing some plugin conflict tests. Are you using any cache plugin or CDN? Try switching it off and see it works. If the issue persists, deactivate all non-gd plugins and see how it goes. Also, please make sure all GD plugins are up to date.
Thanks!
January 13, 2017 at 6:40 pm #342222No, I’m not using any cache plugin or CDN. Don’t even use GD Booster since it totally broke my Revolution slider (didn’t display them), but that’s another topic/forum for later…
Don’t have many other plugins, deactivated them, but no difference.
January 14, 2017 at 12:21 am #342315hi,
please see image attached. I also tried with events and all I see is a blank page.
If you are worried that ppl know the GD URL to submit listing (you shouldn’t really), you can always delete the add listing page completely.
Thanks
January 14, 2017 at 5:56 am #342364What image? Didn’t get attached.
I’m not concerned anymore about the add listing page, it’s now in draft.
But I need to get the gd-login page working properly, since users need to be registered to comment etc. Any solution to what’s happening?
January 14, 2017 at 6:20 am #342368I am not sure how your multisite is set up, did you network activate the GD plugins?
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/how-do-i-use-gd-on-a-multisite-network/Make sure to activate all GD plugins and addons for each site, do not network activate them.
If you are not logged out, the Login page will never work; you are already logged in.
I could not find anywhere where the Dashboard widget was so I added one temporary in the footer.
If you are logged out, the login page works fine.January 14, 2017 at 6:27 am #342371No, the GD plugins are only activated on each site. I didn’t network activate them.
I know that the login page doesn’t work while being logged in. The problem is that it doesn’t work after having logged in and then logged out either. The first time logging in it works. After that cookies have to be cleared to get the gd-login page to show. Were you able to try to register again after having logged out? Or to access “forgot password”?
The gd-login page is linked to in the footer.
The dashboard widget is available in the header – a menu that shows up by clicking the triangle in the top right corner. (Once I have this bug worked out, I’ll make user registration and login more visible)January 14, 2017 at 6:58 am #342373Without access to the plugins there is nothing to check, please send us network admin details.
January 14, 2017 at 7:03 am #342374The same details I previously added here now have super admin access.
Thanks for checking.January 14, 2017 at 7:25 am #342385It might be the multi-language plugin that is creating the issues.
It is not a common setup. For example, although you gave network admin details, not all sites can be accessed with the credentials
There seems to be some caching going on, any favorites liked don’t seem to be saved etc.
I’ll get the developers to have a closer look for you.January 14, 2017 at 7:30 am #342387You should be able to login with those details to all sites, though it doesn’t happen automatically. I just tried your credentials on one of the other site. You just have to login again for each site.
Thanks for looking into it.
January 14, 2017 at 7:34 am #342388Like I said, that’s not common, normally a network admin can switch between dashboard without having to login all the time. Anyway, I am sure that the developers will be able to shed some light on your issues.
January 14, 2017 at 2:24 pm #342582I don’t think this is GD related but please provide FTP info and i can try and narrow the problem down.
@guust if a multisite is subdomain then each site is treated as a new site and cookies and sessions can’t be shared and so you need to login to each one.
