Making a listing inactive

We spent a great deal of time creating a listing for a B&B on our website. After we sent it to the owners for review they objected to us using photos “without their authorization” despite the fact that the photos were in the public domain. Rather than simply deleting all of our work we wondered if there is any way to make the listing “inactive” so that it doesn’t show in the directory but is not lost?
