I have been unable to find the correct documentation for the Genisis child theme and want to make it look like the demo.

Please advise

There is nothing required really, just
1. install Genesis framework
2. install and activate Genesis child theme of your choice
3. Set compatibility settings to Genesis: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-theme/

Just remember that the compatibility pack plugin is no longer necessary, because it’s built in the GD core now.
