Hi there
We’re using WP to Twitter to automatically post all new listings to Twitter which then goes onto Facebook; pretty amazing combo!
We have spoken with the guys at WP to Twitter who have confirmed that it should simply run from the generated permalink upon publish.
What appears to be happening is that the category and subcategory is being excluded from the generated permalink. It appears to be working when retweeting at a later date.
We have GD Booster on the site but it’s not being used as it interferes with custom scripts but other than that, fairly standard plugins.
Any thoughts?
March 6, 2017 at 8:06 pm #365720Hi,
please provide a link and admin credentials in a private reply and we’ll have a look. Possibly provide a link to a published tweet with the wrong URL.
Let us know,
Thanks

March 7, 2017 at 1:28 pm #365894Hello,
I see you have the category with the same slug as the CPT slug, does this work if they are not the same (i don’t want to try publishing anything on your site) It is a bad idea to have a cat with the same slug as a CPT.

P.S. nice website!
March 7, 2017 at 4:20 pm #365946Thanks! 😀 – GeoDirectory is fantastic so thanks to you guys we have been able to get it up and running so quickly!
Ok so which category has the same as the CPT? I cannot see…
March 7, 2017 at 4:21 pm #365947I am happy for you to test it out as you wish – of course please let me know when you are done though. I can monitor Twitter (we are yet to drive followers on there so nobody really watching!)

March 7, 2017 at 5:27 pm #365967Hi Stiofan
Unfortunately not…
Tested on https://www.popupup.com/popup/united-kingdom/surrey/walton-on-thames/exercise/busylizzy-walton/
but it tries to go to…
https://www.popupup.com/popup/united-kingdom/greater-london/london/busylizzy-walton/
… which is a different location altogether. Almost like it’s caching the permalink even though saved.
March 8, 2017 at 3:34 pm #366157Hi Ollie,
I have added a fix for this and it will be in the next ver of GD (i have applied it to your site already)
Somehow, when i was working on your site ACF plugin got corrupted and i had to delete it, you will need to add it back.
Also you can delete my test listings and tweets.
Thanks,
Stiofan
March 9, 2017 at 12:10 am #366264Thanks Stiofan
I have seen ACF was removed. This is now back on. I will run another test tomorrow to see how it operates.
Again, many thanks to you and the team – great support!

I believe Kor was handling this particular query. Will need a permanent fix to prevent occuring on updates. If need be, I can add hook but I am unsure what the problem was exactly.
Many thanks

Stiofan
