    Hi there,

    I want to have an additional post type that can also be reviewed and commented on through geo directory.

    I don’t want this additional post type to have location content, I want this content to be user generated and filtered separately to the places. These will be essentially user created posts but with ratings added on.

    Is this possible within Geo Directory?

    Yes, just create the additional CPT, and then go to GD > General > General tab > Select CPT to disable physical location

    Thankyou Guust, that was exactly what I was after, is it possible to also disable the standard fields such as time, phone, website etc?

    We want to split our website between having places with this information and user generated articles that are still integrated with geo directory for users to create and review, but they are not location or business related, just using categories and tags with user reviews and commenting enabled.

    Following on from that, is it possible to create another category taxonomy for a custom post type through geo directory, or should this be managed through the functions.php

    You can de-activate the custom fields, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-place-settings/#common

    Not sure what you mean with the second question. Any CPT automatically has a category field.
