I am having issues being able to install and activate the GeoDirectory plugin. I am running the Directory Starter theme with the Supreme Directory child theme, but when I try to activate GeoDirectory, I am getting the following error code.

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home1/planetxp/public_html/wp-content/plugins/geodirectory/geodirectory-functions/helper_functions.php on line 831

Any idea why this would be happening?

    Hi Brent,

Your PHP version must be older than 5.3 you should update your PHP version on your server.
You should also notice a speed increase with newer version of PHP.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

PHP has been updated to 5.6.29, but still having issues. Any suggestions? Can I give you login credentials privately and have you take a look?

It appears that every time I try to install the GeoDirectory plugin, it seems to be some sort of script in it that is causing the PHP version to revert back to version 5.2.17. Any idea why this might be happening?

    Hi,

I’m 100% sure that there is no code within GeoDirectory that could cause that.

You should try to ask to your hosting provider if they have any idea.

Let us know how it goes,

    Thanks

Yes, u can’t change PHP version via PHP, that is server related, u can have multiple versions installed but u need to tell the server what version to use, please take this up with your hosting.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan
