    Hi,

I’m having a possible problem with the SEO on the homepage of Supreme Directory.

I’m using YOAST and doing it all correctly, ie covering up the site title with a logo so that I can put a decent sized 50 or so letters of test description as the site title without it looking horrendous, and I’ve added the full title into YOAST so that everything is in there too.

The possible problem I’m having is with the Homepage Title, which for aesthetic reasons needs to be a maximum of two/three words at the most.

Viewing the page source shows that the H1 class entry title is only picking up on the two/three words in the homepage title rather than my 50 or so letters of text originally used for the website title.

Will I have a problem with using a short two word title, or will everything be ok?

Thanks for the info, the logo has the title of the site, but the first H1 is the big title text.
I would imagine this is fine, i will flag this for paolo as he is more of an SEO expert than me 🙂

Thanks Stiophan – I’ll leave the admin credentials intact for him.

That was what I noticed too, and the only way around it at the moment is to put the whole title into the page heading, which makes it look a bit daft.

h1 of the home page is the title not the logo.

    Thanks

So if the title is the h1 tag, shouldn’t the h1 class entry title be changed to something different?

As Stiophan pointed out – the 50 character plus title of the homepage appears as the title, but the only visible h1 tag is the shortened version that appears as the big title text.

There is only one h1 at the moment on your page.

    Thanks

Yes I know there is, which brings me back to the original question –

What really counts there is the meta title and that’s being used correctly:

Nottingham Shine | Shops Bars and Businesses in Nottingham

    You are all good.

    Thanks

Super, all good to go then.

You know what, this conversation would have taken 3-4 weeks at PremiumPress or Appthemes.

    Excellent support all around!
