Allow place outside of default location?

I want to add a more specific town or area for each place (i.e. Ft. Washington instead of Philadelphia) If I change the longitude and latitude, it displays correctly on the map, but the place listing still displays as “123 Street Ft. Washington, Philadelphia, PA” because Philly is the default location. Can I remove the default location from the listing if it is replaced with another town? Is there any way to add a city option on the address field, since the ZIP code field isn’t changing the default location?
