How can I add a “Find out more” to listings?
August 16, 2017 at 4:18 am #391378Set the amount of words showing to something less than the number of words in the description:
GD > Design > Listings > Description word limit
or in the widgets. That will add a “Read More” to the listing.
Translate that to “Find out more” using the language file:

August 16, 2017 at 4:50 am #391383Ok. I guess the issue is that most do not have anything in there yet. They have lots of pic and sidebar info but not where you mention. Is there a way to just add the words with link so people will look farther?
Another issue is that I can not get categories to show up on listing page sidebar.
August 16, 2017 at 5:09 am #391385You are talking about the Detail page, not the Listings page.
So I am not sure what the “Find out more” would be linking to.
But you can add it as part of the description or as a link:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-place-settings/#urlTo add categories to the sidebar, select “show in > sidebar” in the custom field settings:
GD > Place Settings > Custom fields tab > Categories field
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-place-settings/#showThanks

I am guessing you do not have a CPT Categories widget in GD Listings Right sidebar.
That pinpoint is so small because of some CSS but without a URL I cannot say for sure.
Thanks

We cannot provide CSS without having the URL of the pages, but I do not think that can be targeted with CSS because it is “part of” the text, it does not have its own style that can be targeted.
But if you want us to have a look, send the URL of the relevant page [not just the homepage].
Thanks

I just don’t understand why it […] shows up on the main page but not the Listing page.
So what exactly do you want and i’ll tell you how to get it.
Thanks,
Stiofan
August 19, 2017 at 7:48 am #391901Hi Stiofan,
On the LISTING pages it does not have […] after the words Read More. Do you have some fancy CSS that can add […] or make make the words Read More smaller or in italics? It just needs to stand out.August 19, 2017 at 11:27 am #391916Hi Kerry, please check now
I changed the read mores to be the same, this will be in the next release of GD
I added some custom style to it under GD>Design>scripts>Custom style css codeThanks,
Stiofan
