Hello all
Have just installed GD to my Community page.
Currently using Genesis, with eleven40 Pro theme and use Calendarize as a main plugin (http://calendarize.it/)
Installed GD with dummy data.
I don’t want GD as my Home page I want the directory as a Page to link too from a heading on my secondary menu.
With GD active my Calendarize ‘calendar’ disappears from my Home page (Primary Sidebar) and I can’t get the GD Map to show on the ‘places’ page.
Any pointers would be handy.

May 12, 2015 at 8:38 am #39273These links should give you your answers:

http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/widgets/#listing-mapMay 12, 2015 at 9:17 pm #39352So are we supposed to just add widgets to a new Page?
May 13, 2015 at 7:12 am #39365Create a page as you normally would, and then go to
wp admin > settings > reading > and choose a page for your home. Then go to GD > design > home > and untick Set Geodirectory as your home.
May 13, 2015 at 4:00 pm #39399Just FYI, once you do what Guust suggested, your directory home will be found here: http://newlandscentre.org.uk/wordpress/location/
To compse it just add widgets to GD Home widgets areas.
You can change the location permalink in GD >> Permalinks.
Thanks
May 16, 2015 at 3:42 pm #39674Hello all
Many thanks for the help so far.
Page – have that sorted now.
Map – have that sorted too, though need to work out how to make the category bar above the Map look neater.
Plugin – I still have the issue that as soon as I enable GD the Events Calendar (by Calendarize) in my Primary Sidebar disappears.
Will have another fiddle today – I have deleted and then reinstalled GD so need to set it up as per your instructions again.

I asked the team at Calendarize it to have a look at the problem – to recap as soon as I enable GeoDirectory the Calendar portion of Calendarize disappears and just as quickly reappears if I disable GeoDirectory.
Calendarize believe there is a Java error in GD causing the problem – hopefully the following makes sense to you 🙂
The GeoDirectory plugin causes a javascript error:
Uncaught TypeError: $(…).flexslider is not a functionWe disabled calendarize it and the error was still there.

May 20, 2015 at 3:56 pm #40070HI joe,
GD uses flexslider, but our scripts are using jQuery prefix, not $ so it must be another plugin.
Please provide wp admin credentials and we will have a look.
Thanks

It seems like activating GD removes flexslider.js, but after that the Genesis Slider which uses Flexslider too, isn’t able to use the script added by GD.
I need to ask to Stiofan why this is happening.
We will update you asap.
Thanks
May 21, 2015 at 10:53 pm #40281Many thanks – hoping you can work this out.
I can live without Genesis Slider if I can have GeoDirectory + Calendarize it working.

May 22, 2015 at 11:20 am #40312Hi Joe,
Please check now, i added a little code snippet to your child theme functions file, the problem was GD removed the standard flexslider script but was not adding it back on the homepage, i have set it to call the GD flexslider script on the homepage also.
Thanks,
Stiofan

Great service – I will make a start on our Directory Page (using the instructions supplied earlier in this thread) over the weekend.
