    Hello,
I preparation to launch my directory, I have been testing from Chrome and Firefox. I have discovered that a lot of my listings get “Page not found” messages when clicking on them from the listing page. I can not launch until I have this figured out. I have confirmed that the permalinks is set to post name.

Thanks in advance for the help. Needless to say, I am a anxious to get this resolved and learn what is causing it going forward.

The “gdfi_posted_facebook” WordPress custom field to all listings is breaking them.
    What is that referring to?

Removing that WordPress custom field fixes the problem. Please check.

    Thanks

That is a bit strange though. The “gdfi_posted_facebook” field should only get there if you actually posted to Facebook, but you have not done that because your Social Importer is not setup for Facebook.

And in other installations, the “gdfi_posted_facebook” field being present does not break pages in Firefox.

I suggest to test adding a new listing, and then seeing if that detail page works in Firefox.

    Thanks

    Two updates.
    1. I deactivated the social plug in but that custom field still remains
    2. I deleted a listing in Chrome but it still appears in Firefox. You can see “Test 2” here but it does not exist in my “places” on the dashboard. I have cleared the Firefox cache twice. Same thing with explorer.

    Explorer: http://realestatebluepages.com/places/discount-realtors/
    Firefox: http://realestatebluepages.com/places/discount-realtors/

    Hi,

you see in Firefox, because you are logged out, you don’t see in Chrome because you are logged in. If you clear the Website cache (not browser), you’ll stop seeing it even when logged out.

I just did it for you.

Let us know if you find what’s responsible for that custom field.

    Thanks

    Thank Paulo, Great work.
Quick question. Do I need to manually clear my website cache or will WP Super Cache do that?

As far as the custom field, I have only loaded GD plugins on my site so I assume it came from the GD Social importer which is now disabled but the custom field remains.

    Thanks

There should be an option within wp super cache to determine after how much time to automatically clear the cache. Of course every time you make changes or see something wrong, you should manually clear it.

    Thanks

As I add listing to my site, they instantly appear in Chrome but not in Firefox or Explorer. Is that the same issue? Will they appear later in the day after my site has cached again or is that a manual setting that I need to deal with every time I add an entry?

    Thanks guys

Yes after adding a new listing you need to manually clear the cache, if you want the listing to be immediately visible to non logged in users.

    Thanks

I appreciate the quick reply. Any thoughts on what to do with the Facebook custom field issue?

Should I open a different ticket? thanks

It doesn’t look to be something GeoDirectory is responsible for, but I asked to the developers to double check.

    Thank you
