404 errors in google after changing url structure

We have moved to a support ticketing system and our forums are now closed.

    hello

    i had my urls previously like domain/places/category/listing

    but then i changed settings in wpgeodirectory to something like
    domain/places/country/city/category/listing

    so now the existing place links in google results pages are broken and just go to 404 page

    what is the best solution for this? can wpgeodirectory not do 404 but instead do 301 permanent redirect to new url? i am not sure how to delete these urls from google; my sitemap plugin has the correct url schema now but i dont think these are showing in google yet
