Customize Event List Widget

I would like to modify the events template file for the upcoming events widget, gdevents_widget_listview.php, so it does not display an image nor the meta.

Of course, I don’t want to put this in the plugin folder because it will get overwritten.

I know that for regular GD Listings, I can customize the templates by copying the template files into a subfolder of the theme and making changes.

I tried copying the gdevents_widget_listview.php into the theme’s subfolder geodirectory and using a different subfolder, geodir_event_manager, but neither of these methods work.

Is there a place I can put it in my theme folder for the Events Custom Post Type?
