Hello,

On my website’s top menu the logo is a link back to the home page.
https://www.accessible-japan.com

I just realized this is not working correctly on the results page if people do a location specific search.

This form searches all locations (ie doesn’t set a location parameter) and correctly returns to the home page if you click on the logo from the results page:
https://www.accessible-japan.com/accessible-hotels-in-japan/
(Do a search -> Click Logo -> Returns to landing page)

However,

For a Tokyo search (location parameter set in background) here:
https://www.accessible-japan.com/wheelchair-accessible-hotels-tokyo/
(Do a search -> Click Logo -> goes to https://www.accessible-japan.com/hotels/japan/tokyo/adachi/low-range/hotel-coco-grand-kitasenju/japan/tokyo/ – which is the first result)

Any ideas?

Hi Josh,

Just followed the steps above and I’m not able to replicate it. I’m still getting the correct link to the homepage when I hover over the logo as shown in the attached screenshot.

Hi Kor,

Sorry, I wasn’t clear.

Don’t search for a place in the main search, go to the separate form (each is different) and do a search.

So, don’t go to the main search and search for “osaka” go to the Osaka search page and do a search.

Thanks, now i have full admin access.

I have checked and found the site using old version of GeoDirectory & GeoDirectory Plugins.
Please update those plugins, so i can investigate what causing problem in home link.

Hi Josh,

I have done some debugging and now seems problem has been fixed.
I have done:
– Run GeoDirectory > GD Tools > GD pages check & GeoDirectory > GD Tools > Clear all GD version numbers
– Re-saved GeoDirectory > Permalinks > GEODIRECTORY PAGES
– Re-saved Settings > Permalinks
– Cleared cache (site & browser)

and it fixed the problem.

Please check and confirm from your side.

Hi Kiran,

I just tried it, and while it is not going to the first result, it is not going to the top page either.

Tokyo searches go to:
https://www.accessible-japan.com/location/japan/tokyo/

Osaka searches go to:
https://www.accessible-japan.com/location/japan/osaka/

Kyoto searches go to:
https://www.accessible-japan.com/location/japan/kyoto/kyoto/

They should ALL really go to:
https://www.accessible-japan.com/

PS – I tried various browsers and deleted server cache and browser cache.
