Apologies if this is a duplicate post – I hit submit, went back to edit and click notify me of follow-up replies via e-mail and now I can’t find the post anywhere despite it showing I posted. At any rate…

I didn’t see a separate forum for this and thought I’d post it here. I think I know the answer but it never hurts to ask: With Supreme Directory, is there a way to use a slider (Metaslider) in place of the featured image? At the very least, is it possible to eliminate the designated page name from appearing front in center in white (which is why I’m assuming the photo is manipulated to a darker tint) along with the aforementioned tint while keeping the page title for SEO purposes? I just don’t want/need it showing on each page as their content will make it obvious (as well as their navigation).

My rationale is this: in an attempt to monetize my website through advertising, the featured photo is VERY-PRIME real estate. If I could have a slider and limit the quantity to 10, I could foresee getting top dollar for this space – if not for multiple, at least for one. Secondly, in an effort to fill these spaces with quality photos from the likes of Shutterstock et al, I’ve found very limited resources available for non-editorial/commercial use. Realizing this, I figured why the heck should I potentially pay top dollar for these when I could just as well sell and make money off this space – hence my opportunistic question. 🙂

You can use a slider, but that would be a customization, and depends on what slider you want to use and which pages etc.
To hide the title on some pages, just hide it with CSS.

    Thanks

    Hi Guust,

Thanks for the info. I’m using Metaslider – don’t much about it and just started toying with it yesterday. The page is custom page within the theme so it has the featured image, but I’ll be using each page like this for content management and advertisements in conjunction with GeoDirectory. As long as it can be done, I’ll get it figured out!

I would think you can just add a Metaslider shortcode where you need it, it may be in a customized header template or somewhere else, but it should be possible.

    Thanks

I’ve accomplished ridding the page title and changing the opacity on those pages so I’m off to a good start. I believe I read something about the Metaslider shortcode and where to place it in the editor so I’ll give that a try this weekend (I also saw there’s a plugin that will allow for multiple featured images that will work with sliders, too.)
