Popular Category Switching on Home Page

I am using the latest version of the directory and plugins. I am using the Modern GDF Child Theme.

I hope I am in the right forum. I have installed everything with no problem. I am using the Custom Post Type Plugin and have 3 Post Types: Places to See & Do, Places to Eat, and Places to Stay. I have created a category for each post type and added a place listing to each category. My question is when I am on the Home page and I select a different category from the dropdown list of Popular Categories shouldn’t the map also change to show the new listing from the new selected category. Or do you have to manually click on the post type places that are listed horizontally along the bottom of the map to get it to change?

When I select and change to a new category in the Popular Categories dropdown on the home page my map stays fixed and static on the previous selected category and listing. Example I may have been on the Popular Category of Places to See & Do and I see the category icon for the listing on the map. Then I do the dropdown of Popular Categories and select Places to Eat but the map doesn’t change to show the category icon of the Places to Eat listing. All three of my listings are in the same city so the map doesn’t have to try an relocate to another far away place. It just doesn’t change unless I click on the bottom of the map when the 3 Popular Categories appear horizontally on the left side of the map.

I think it should change when I make a new Popular Categories selection from the dropdown box.
