Language file problems

    To translate the GD into Norwegian language I have downloaded Poedit and translated some of the text. I have saved the file to a mo-file, and uploaded the file to the right folders, I think. The movie told me to get into the wp-config.php and find where the program load the language files (define WPLANG..) but I don´t find that in my wp-config.php-file, and then can´t “tell” GD to load the Norwegian translation I have made. How do I take it from here?

    Hi Heidi,

    Could you tell us the path of the folder that you’ve uploaded the language files? Then go to your wp-admin area, and then go to Settings > General > Site language and select your language there. If it doesn’t work, share WP and FTP access so that we could check this out for you.

    Hi!

    The path is: public_htlm/wp-content/languages/geodirectory

    and public_htlm/wp-content/languages/plugins

    I have only uploaded the .mo-file. Should the .po-file be uploaded as well?

    In wp-admin-area in Settings>General>Site langage the language are Norwegian. The theme are in Norwegian, its just the GD plugin which are not translated.

    Hello!

    The file is in the correct location, but needs a name change. I changed the name to nb_NO to match the others and the WP locale here: https://wpcentral.io/internationalization/

    Try it again and see if it fixes the problem for you.

    Also, were you saying you started with the English file? I ask because there is some work already done on the NO file here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/translate/projects/geodirectory/no/default/
