Hi,
I’ve recently come across some user experience problem in Supreme theme, that my website visitors encounter. Usually, if the user is the first time on my website and he lands on a listing category page, he tries to find locations he’s interested in right away on the map because it’s so big, beautiful and attractive. He doesn’t realize that the map shows the pins only of the first 12 results. And apparently, some of them leave the website being sure that it doesn’t have what they came for.
Is there a way to make the map show all the search/listing results at once, so that visual people could find what they want right there?
January 3, 2018 at 8:53 am #411269Hi Roman,
You can display more than 12 listings by configuring the settings in WP > Settings > Reading > Blog pages show at most. Or you can create a link to a custom page that displays all the listings for a single CPT using a shortcode https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-shortcodes/#listing
Well, let us know how it goes.
Thanks!
January 3, 2018 at 9:05 am #411272Hi Kor,
Unfortunately, you misunderstood. I don’t want to display more than 12 listing on a single page, all I want is the MAP to show all pins at once for reasons I’ve explained above.
January 3, 2018 at 9:43 am #411280Hi Roman,
Thanks for your clarification. You can achieve this by creating a new empty page and use this shortcode below.
[gd_listing_map width=100% height=300 category="0"]
Here is more info regarding the parameters. https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-shortcodes/#listing
Thanks!
January 3, 2018 at 9:58 am #411282Sorry, I guess I was not clear again.
I don’t need a new page with just a map.
I need Supreme theme to return it’s regular listing and search pages as is: Listings on the left + Map on the right
Listings on left show 12 results as they do right now, so no changes are necessary here.
But Map on the right should show ALL pins from all results for this query (not just those 12). This is important because most users look at the map and think that website has only 12 locations and they don’t bother scrolling down to find page navigation numbers, they just leave.
January 3, 2018 at 1:12 pm #411300Hello!
The Listing map, when used on the Listing pages, displays the number of posts as set by the WP Blog “Posts per page” settings, as Kor mentioned. This is by design, and there are no workarounds; changing the behavior would be a customization. You can, however, as Kor stated, add a map to a different page.
All that said, a member did provide a snippet that you could try; the snippet overrrides that WordPress setting:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/show-all-listings-on-map/#post-16449
This snippet is not recommended, though. There are several other maps that display ‘all’ including the Home page map and the Location pages, but the listing page and your site’s performance may be seriously impacted by the snippet mentioned above.
January 3, 2018 at 1:31 pm #411308Hello,
This is something we will be looking into in the near future.
For now please set this option to show paging also at the top
GD>Design>Search>Show advanced pagination details>Before.Thanks,
Stiofan

January 3, 2018 at 8:03 pm #411361Thanks, Alex, I’ve tried the code you’ve mentioned and it seems to be working fine for now. Not exactly the way I wanted it, but I guess it will be ok before the number of listings grows too high.
I’ll stick to it until there is a better solution.Thank you.
