As far as the comments section (wordpress vs. GD), how it really works? Same or different? Because I have a spammer guy that post already twice and the only place that shows his message is at the wordpress side not at the GD comment’s list.

Also, I tried to remove the user from site and just found out that he is not register at my site.

    Please see screenshots attached.

    Hi Andrew,

Just took a look at the settings from your screenshots and it seems fine. Users should require registering in order to post comments and also would require your approval to display the comments. Please share the URL of the site in question so we can take a better look at it and also WP temp admin access to your site. You can post the details here using the private reply option below.

    Hello!

Have you already tried a Recaptcha?

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/downloads/gd-recaptcha/

The login credentials don’t work for me, please double check them.

The credentials still don’t work for me.

Reviews are similar to comments but not exactly the same.

You can try another recaptcha on comments, but that is a general wordpress issue and not relayed to GD.

    Alex,

I am sorry you are having a hard time to login at my site today, not sure what is happening with your login attempt. I think Kor was able to login ok, note his message above!

    Kor,

Thank you for that suggestion on changing users role from Author to Subscribers. I think this user role settings came along when I migrate website from GT. If I am not wrong GT used to require users new registration as Author.

As far as GD not showing reviews pending, I am assuming that this user role changing will fix it, correct? I already saw you posted a review test, thx. (Does GD supposedly to show notification count? see attached in the next message)

As far as, how this guy (spammer) was able to post and I can’t find him in the user’s list, any ideas?

    Thanks

    Hello Andrew,

I am not sure what the issue was, as it didn’t actually say there was an error. I suppose it be that someone was already logged in?

About your idea about reviews, and a notification to show pending reviews, I like that idea too and will pass it along for consideration for future versions. That feature is not currently included, but there are admin email notifications.

About the users roles, GD Listing owners need the author role, and that is only used by the automatic add or claim listing process, so you shouldn’t have to worry about it in regards to GD.

If you get another user like that in the future, let us know. For now that still sounds like a general WordPress issue and setting new users to ‘Subscriber’ certainly won’t make it any worse.

Let us know if you have more questions about that

Yes, I do have more question. I will breakdown by your paragraphs so we don’t get lost:

I suppose it be that someone was already logged in?

    Alex,

I am not understanding what you are trying to say here, please try to formulate your question again.

About your idea about reviews, and a notification to show pending reviews, I like that idea too and will pass it along for consideration for future versions. That feature is not currently included, but there are admin email notifications.

    Paolo,

I did not mention that as an idea. I think GD already does that, can you please confirm?

About the users roles, GD Listing owners need the author role, and that is only used by the automatic add or claim listing process, so you shouldn’t have to worry about it in regards to GD.

    Alex,

As per Kor’s message above, I was under the impression that I had to change all users role to “subscribers” and I did it. What do I do now? Do I leave like that as all users subscribers or listing’s owners (who posted and who claimed) have to have their user ales as “Author”

If you get another user like that in the future, let us know. For now that still sounds like a general WordPress issue

    Alex,

That spammer still a user issue for me because I deleted his message once already and he posted another one. I am not sure what to do because I cannot find him at user’s list.

    Please advice!

    Hello,

    to respond

    1. I do not know why the login details don’t work.

About your idea about reviews, and a notification to show pending reviews, I like that idea too and will pass it along for consideration for future versions. That feature is not currently included, but there are admin email notifications.

    Paolo,

I can confirm it is not a feature.

Listing owners should be authors or else they cannot edit their listing.

If you get another user like that in the future, let us know. For now that still sounds like a general WordPress issue

    Alex,

That spammer still a user issue for me because I deleted his message once already and he posted another one. I am not sure what to do because I cannot find him at user’s list.

    Please advice!

    Good progress

Perhaps you should use b-quote next time.

Thanks for trying to help me, I am ok now!
