Edit Action Hooks to Customize Home Page

Hello, I’m using Supreme, I’ve been trying to understand how to customize de code of the homepage.
– I created a “geodirectory” folder and pasted a copy of “geodir_home.php”
– geodir_home.php consists of several action hooks…so to customize I need to edit them.

Could someone point me out where exactly are the scripts of the functions of these hooks?

Maybe a simple example on how to insert the word “Hello” in the homepage featured area, next to the search bar, could set me on trail.

* my goal is to replace the featured area background with a slider, having the search bar on the front.
