This seems simple but I’m stumped!

The Related Listings widget sorts listings by distance and shows the distance, but the listings in the main content of the Listings page doesn’t show the distance.

I’d like to a) show the distance on the main content and b) add a distance field to the Sorting Options dropdown but there doesn’t appear to be a defined custom field for distance.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

IN the related listings widget, there is a main listing to show the distance to.
In the listings page, there is nothing to show a distance to. What distance do you expect? From where?

    Thanks

Yes, and so, on the search page results when using ‘near me’, when there is a location to measure from, then the distance is shown.

Distance is not shown on other types of archive pages.

    Thanks both.

I understand what I think you’re saying in that the main content of the listings page cannot id the location as unlike the search page the user hasn’t entered a location – that makes sense.

I’m trying to find an efficient way for users to search listings (on the listings page) by their address.

The ‘Near Me’ button is ideal in principle but in practice relies on the user making the location available to their browser which more frequently than not will tell them their location is unknown – I’d prefer not to use this.

I can put the search widget on the listings page but this just takes the user off the listings page and requires them to enter the category again to refine the search.

So maybe a custom field where the user can enter a location that could be referenced in the sorting options

Is there anyway the search widget could be used to filter the listing page?

The search will always send people to the search results page. That is how you filter the listing page, you use a search query and get the results. The listings page itself cannot be filtered by geolocation.
    Thanks
