When saving a MAIN menu revision, page reload seems to stall-out, then blips to a white screen.
Navigating backwards in the browser will reload the menu page (ie. the site is not actually broken) and the changes made are sometimes retained, however after several awkward revisions in this manner (having to hit back-button to reload menu page), changes will not save at all. This problem disappears when GD core plugin is disabled (disabling all GD dependent plugins does not solve problem).
Menu revisions on other menus seems to work fine with all GD plugins active.Any idea what is causing this problem?
btw. I’m also getting EXTREMELY slow page loads on mobile (desktop works snappy). Perhaps a related concern?

I’m not 100% sure I understand the problem. I went to appearance >> menu on your website, saved and it reloaded just fine.
Can you tell me exactly how to recreate this?
Thanks
June 12, 2015 at 7:58 pm #42414I just tested again from my work computer and the problem is still there. I tested with Safari, Chrome and Firefox.
Are you sure you had the “Main Menu (Enfold Main Menu)” selected?
The problem does not occur when saving any other menu.
The problem is resolved when GD core plugin is disabled.June 12, 2015 at 9:17 pm #42421Interesting. I noticed just now that pages will not load (white screen) when GD Payment Manager is deactivated. Back-end still works fine.
This seems to be a new development (so to speak) as I have tested beforehand will all GD plugins disabled and the site worked (including Main menu saves). This is behaviour (system broken) is exactly what you said would happen in my previous support thread if disabling Prices and Payments did not revert all my listings back to the default Free listing as the plugin is programmed to do.
Thread here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/all-prices-and-payments-settings-reset-when-payment-manager-plugin-disabled/After your explanation in the thread above, I have not bothered to do any further database work to bulk-update/correct my listings’ expiry dates and packages via PHPMyadmin export/import (planned to do this after troubleshooting other issues with iPad drop-down menus sticking open with or without GD activated).
HOWEVER I have done database correction (via PHPMyadmin export/import) approximately around the time this menu problem started (about 2 weeks ago).I’m beginning to think that bulk updating listing expiry dates and package ID’s via PHPMyadmin export/import is somehow the root cause of all my menu problems.
Perhaps meddling around with PHPMyadmin to bulk-update my listings has caused unanticipated problems.
Do you have a way of verifying this possible cause?
June 12, 2015 at 9:22 pm #42422Hi again,
for me, unless you mention the theme, the main menu is Appearance >> Menu.
I’m guessing now you are taking about the Enfold Theme Option page? I tried that and it works, it saves and I get the “Alright Sparky” message (see image attached).
If that’s not the page either, please post a link because we have pretty different way of calling things…
If that is the page simply try to clear your browsers cache.
Let me know,
Thanks
June 12, 2015 at 10:13 pm #42427The menu page I’m referring to is here:
http://locallogic.ca/powell-river/wp-admin/nav-menus.phpI’ve tried clearing cache in Firefox and the problem remains.
Please also check the post I made a few minutes before your last. Now none of my pages will load if I deactivate GD Prices and Payments.
If the menus are saving fine on your end (strange!), can you verify that no pages load if GD payments module is deactivated?June 12, 2015 at 11:31 pm #42432Ok I was able to finally see it, I’ll ask to Stiofan to have a look.
He might need FTP and phpmyadmin credentials too.
Let us know,
Thanks

June 13, 2015 at 9:16 pm #42486I’ve rebuilt the menu. When doing so I noticed it loading slower and slower as the menu items piled up. When I got near the end of adding all the items, saving resulted in the menu page nearly stalling, then showing no items (at least not a white screen).
As I recall, this is the same behaviour that eventually led to the white screen upon saving.
If I deactivate GD, the menu saves rapidly and does not act glitchy.
This is a problem for me because if I have to deactivate GD to work on my menu, I loose all my listing’s package ID settings and expiry dates as per https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/all-prices-and-payments-settings-reset-when-payment-manager-plugin-disabled/
My Google page speed score is also hammered (especially on mobile) when GD is active. https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Flocallogic.ca%2Fpowell-river&tab=desktop
Is there a problem with my install or database that is causing these problems?
June 15, 2015 at 2:49 pm #42555This reply has been marked as private.June 18, 2015 at 4:36 pm #42990This is solved, it was a bug in GD where each menu item saved ran the function to update the review and category counts. it is fixed and will be in the next release.
Thanks,
Stiofan
June 22, 2015 at 10:55 am #43253Menus edits are working awesome now, thanks.
However, I just noticed that I am now unable to edit or upgrade listings. It’s possible that this problem is related to your fix Stiofan. Can you investigate before releasing the next release?
Logins should be the same.June 22, 2015 at 11:59 am #43257Hi,
I checked your site and it seems it’s trying to post loads of post for facebook via the social importer, i have disabled it for now, did you import loats of listings recently or something? If you want i can clear the list of posts trying to post to facebook but for now i have deactivated it so your edit pages will work.
