    Hi,

Is it possible to duplicate the “search for text” input field? What I am trying to achieve is if someone is to search in both search fields then only results with both search terms will appear. hope this makes sense.

    Hello,

What are the two items you are searching for?

    “Search for” looks at titles/description/categories/tags.

What would the other field search?

Have you already tried adding a ‘category select’ to the search bar?

    Hi,

I want the 2 search terms to be matched into one listing.

    (Search field 1) Apples
    (search field 2) Banana

Listing 1 = apples, banana = top search result
listing 2 = apples, carrot = not in search results.

… I cannot use the custom fields for what I am trying to accomplish, t will only work with searching the body/tags – but the 2 search terms must be the same in the one listing…

Ah, ok, thanks for explaining a bit more. There are no settings for that, no, so it would be a customization.

I will flag your question for the developers to see if they have a fix for you, though.

    Hi Chris,

The things you requested are currently not possible at the moment without doing core customization.

With multiselect/select field this is possible but not with text field. Under CPT Settings > Advance Search you can set “Field Data Type => Check” & “Search Operator” => “AND” or “OR” within searched values for the multiselect/select field.

I don’t know how to post a job but if someone can move this to the jobs board it would be appreciated.
