Advanced Search Displays all Results in Category dropdown searches

    Hi there,

    Advanced Search Displays all Results in Category dropdown searches.

    Just purchased today Advanced Search and Custom Post Types. Previous to this was using ‘The SEO Framework’. Noticed that there is a conflict. Deleted the SEO plugin. Search results still displays all results instead of category specific results.

    Please note that this is a multisite setup. I only implemented the advanced search function as a test on the following sites. Thank you for any help in advance.

    Hi Nick,

    Thanks for your post. Just inspected your Website and the search is working fine. I don’t think the “SEO Framework” has anything to do with this. Could you tell us a little bit more about the problem? Perhaps you can list the steps to replicate it?

    I search for Car Dealers, but get every category. The Category dropdown does not have any effect on the result of the search it seems.

    Hello,

    Search results first look at the search term and then at other search bar options including category and ‘near’ proximity.

    I will flag your question for the developers to see if there is a way to raise the priority of the category.

    Something is messing with the queries, its hard to tell what exactly, can u provide FTP and i should be able to track ti down quicker, or you can try disabling plugins one by one.

    Thanks for the info, the problem seems to be with the plugin “Coupon Creator” it is editing our queries, if u disable that u will see search works fine.

    Excellent. Thank you Stiofan! It works great. Deleted the plugin and bingo runs as wanted.
