Popular Locations not Sorted by Popular Locations

    Is there a way to have “Popular Locations” sort by Locations that are the most Popular by default. Right now it’s in Alphabetical Sorting. With a name like “Popular Locations” it seems like it should be sorted by Popularity, not city name. Esp. since cities with no listings are likely to occur. At least if sorting was applied those empty cities would be last.

    I don’t think this is a new feature request. I think this is more about designing the feature as labeled/advertised. Sorting would really make this widget awesome and feel more like what it’s called. Can someone please make this happen? For now I renamed the widget just “Locations”. Could someone please tell me how to make it sort?

    The widget and shortcode do not have any sorting options.

    I will flag this topic for the developers, but, for this type of customization the general practice is to override the widget or shortcode template: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/customizing-geodirectory-templates/

    The description does not say it sorts, but it does say something “return a list of popular locations” which clearly sounds like/implies it would display “popular locations” and render popular locations when one is selected.
