Hi:
I’m looking forward to the v2.
I’m trying to get an idea of what I can do in v1 that will transfer over to v2 decently.
I’m wondering if the following will be possible in v2:
1)can a user select multiple categories & multiple locations during submission?
2) I noticed you’re deeply integrating NinjaForms into v2. Does that mean their addons (e.g. Conditional Logic, Multi-Part/Page Forms, etc) will also be integrated? If so, can if be used during submission in an e.g. ‘if this category, then show these custom fields’, the selected categories and their respective custom fields or field groups, which will then be added to their User Dashboard, for editing, and their Detail page?
3) If I add NinjaForms “Conditional Logic” & “MultiPage Forms” Addons to v1, will that transfer ok to v2?
4) are category icons required in v2, or optional?
5) can a user post to any custom-created Custom Post Type created, from their user dashboard? (or would this require customizing on my part?)
6) will v1 custom-created CPTs transfer ok to v2?
7) will v2 be compatible with WooCommerce basic plugin & WC Product Vendors, to be able to build out a portion of a site with ecommerce?
8) if I use a 3rd party theme with the GD Core & Plugins, where do I make the changes to the 3rd party theme? In GD Child page, or in the 3rd party Child page? If it’s done in the 3rd party Child page, will those changes transfer ok to GD v2?
Thanks for all your time and help. I’m excited about all you’re doing in v2!June 3, 2018 at 9:12 pm #4334281)can a user select multiple categories & multiple locations during submission?
Multiple categories yes as in GDV1, but listings will still only have one location (address) per listing as is the case with GDV1.
2) I noticed you’re deeply integrating NinjaForms into v2. Does that mean their addons (e.g. Conditional Logic, Multi-Part/Page Forms, etc) will also be integrated? The integration will not automatically make ‘template/replacement tag’ type behavior work, but there are examples of how to achieve this with a customization. https://wpgeodirectory.com/formidable-forms-in-geodirectory-tabs/
3) If I add NinjaForms “Conditional Logic” & “MultiPage Forms” Addons to v1, will that transfer ok to v2?
The form in the V2 example renders with a shortcode from ninjaforms and so all Ninja forms functionality should work, within reason.
4) are category icons required in v2, or optional?
Map Icon is required, category icon is optional.
5) can a user post to any custom-created Custom Post Type created, from their user dashboard? (or would this require customizing on my part?)
More about this once we are working on the custom post types addon for V2.
6) will v1 custom-created CPTs transfer ok to v2?
Yes
7) will v2 be compatible with WooCommerce basic plugin & WC Product Vendors, to be able to build out a portion of a site with ecommerce?
There is not currently an out of the box integration between GD and WC or WCVendors. The developers will let us know if there are integrations planned. Feel free to provide more specific information about what you are asking about, specifically. Many members have achieved some form of this type of integration without the need to edit the GD core files.
8) if I use a 3rd party theme with the GD Core & Plugins, where do I make the changes to the 3rd party theme? In GD Child page, or in the 3rd party Child page? If it’s done in the 3rd party Child page, will those changes transfer ok to GD v2?
CSS and Snippets for V1 may need to be updated for V2. Geodirectory comes with a place to insert CSS at Geodirectory – Design – Scripts – Custom CSS.
