Hi There,
I need to do a couple of things:
1. Have the entire GEO Directory features working INSIDE my existing template.
This is what I have done:
———————————–
1. Tried to use the shortcodes, those did not work at all.
2. Then I tried to take your directions in using your templates inside of:
— plugin/geodirectory-templates/listing-preview.php
3. I took all of that code and put it in my own template file.
4. Once I did that I got the dreaded “Internal Server Error”
——————–
Internal Server ErrorThe server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator at [no address given] to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
——————Please help me figure this out and what is going on.
Thanks.
June 16, 2014 at 5:51 pm #4348Hi,
you don’t copy the code, but the file itself inside your child theme.
Once the system finds the file in your theme, it will start using that, so if you modify it, your edits will appear in the website.

June 17, 2014 at 12:09 pm #4494Hi Paolo,
That did work for the homepage. I think I got it now. However, I have another question.
I can now go to: http://www.sitename.com/find-a-listing/ and it will pull up the geodirectory home_page.php file.
How can I now have it use MY template files for listing display and details? Right now as soon as I go to one of those links, it goes back to the geodirectory templates and leaves my site templates. I tried to move “listing-detail.php” into my theme directory and make changes, but it did not work.
Can you please give me some insight? We purchased and love this plugin. However, we need it to function inside of our existing, custom child theme.
Thank you. I look forward to your reply.
June 17, 2014 at 5:38 pm #4546If I remember right you have to rename the template file to geodire_filename.php, but I need VIkas or Stiofan to confirm this.
However, if I were in you I’d wait doing these changes till we release next version. We are doing final tests today, hopefully we can release it by tonight.
The tempaltes have been totally rewritten and we made it easier to modify them without having to move them within your theme.
Thx
June 23, 2014 at 3:52 pm #5702Hello Paolo,
Have you all released the new templates? I wanted to see the new system.
Also, can you tell me if I’m able to take the existing field template and customize the fields? For instance, I do not want to have Twitter, Facebook, etc.
Thanks. Please let me know.
June 24, 2014 at 12:41 am #5806Hi, yes latest version include the new template system.
To remove facebook, twitter and so, you don’t really need to modify the code of the templates. Everything can be done via the prices and payments addon.
You can create different packages and for each decide which of the default fields are visible and which are not.
Let us know,
Thanks
June 24, 2014 at 10:19 pm #5975Hello Paolo,
How do I get and install the new template system? These are files that will work on an existing theme correct?
Please advise.
Thanks.
June 24, 2014 at 11:54 pm #5986Hi,
the new template system is included in the latest version of GD. 1.1.3
Here Stiofan explain how to make GD 100% compatible with a theme. In this case Enfold:
