Buddypress failure to install?

Hi,

I added the plugin to my wordpress site by dragging the zip file and activating it. When I look at my plugin list, I see the buddypress plugin on the list and it says it’s activated.

However, where do I go to access the settings? I cannot find it anywhere. I have already downloaded geodirectory and have been using it. It does not show up in the geodirectory menu.

I tried deleting the plugin and re-installing and nothing different.

Maybe an error with the installation?
