How can I use GD to list places by category and subcategory and also display these category Names at the top of the resulting page to help filter the results?

BELOW is a graphical idea of what i want to implement but cant quite figure out the shortcode for it.

    MAIN CATEGORY
    _________________________________________________________________________________
    SUB CATEGORY A | SUB CATEGORY B | SUB CATEGORY C |SUB CATEGORY D |SUB CATEGORY E
    _________________________________________________________________________________
(*optional feature)Special Filters Section:(Grid, list, Descending, Asc)

    Listing for Cat A, B, C, D, E

when Subcategory A is clicked, the listings below the subcategories display contents from only the selected subcategory tab whereas selecting the main category displays contents from all the subcategory with pagination.

    Hi Richard,

Thanks for your post. To filter by categories, you’ll need to purchase the “Advanced Search Addon” and you can check out the example of how it works https://wpgeo.directory/starter/ . Is this what you’re looking for ?

Hi Kor, Thanks for your response. I used the custom post type shortcode [gd_cpt_categories post_type=”gd_place” show_count=1 title=”Attractions” sort_by=”az”] this helps a little and displays the categories but the list is out of the viewport.

Also my listings does not display when i click on the category.

I have attached a snapshot below for both scenarios and will be glad if you can help.

the custom post type shortcode also displays all the categories instead of limiting it to the gd_place you can have a look at http://www.visitghana.com/see-ghana/
