Hello, my search map on home page isn’t working properly.
I’d like to remove the grey menu all together.
When I customise>Widgets>GD Top section>Search search widget won’t open for me to remove.
I’m thinking this is where I remove it? Without losing the map.
Screenshots attached.
I’ll add login in next post if needed.
Thanks so much.July 13, 2018 at 1:48 am #438205This reply has been marked as private.July 13, 2018 at 9:58 am #438230Hello,
You can check to make sure all your events have categories and other required fields like address filled in.
The login info is not working for me. Please validate and repost so we can check the settings.

I’ve removed the search below the Google Map. Is that what you’re looking for?
Thanks!
July 16, 2018 at 7:17 am #438587yes – that’s great to have that removed… but also the grey bit doesn’t work. (attached screenshot) when i click on events – no events show up and I get an error message. There are 3 event listings
Better to have this grey bit working than remove grey bit.
🙂July 16, 2018 at 7:20 am #438589sorry this attached is error message on events – grey search menu
July 16, 2018 at 1:32 pm #438635Hi Leigh,
It looks like you have created a CPT called ‘event’. This name/slug is reseverved for the event manager addon Events CPT.
Here’s what I think you might try.
Option A – Use the events manager addon
1. Export the event CPT listings and categories
2. Delete the event CPT listings and remove from trash.
3. Ativate the Event Manager Addon
4. Import the categories and listings to the event CPT. You will need to alter them a bit to ad a date. You can export a sample CSV first.Or Option B
Export the event CPTs, delete them and the Custom Post Type
Create a new post type that is not called event/events
Import the listings into thatJuly 18, 2018 at 1:48 am #438850thanks @alex you’re a legend – have followed your advice.
But I’ve exported csv of project categories to upload as event categories, but it won’t let me…
Import is only for listings (no drop down menu to choose events categories)
I need project and event categories to be defined the same – hoping I don’t need to manually do this… please see screenshot.July 18, 2018 at 7:32 am #438886Enable the event Addon and the Custom Post Type addon and you will see an option to choose which CPT for the import of categories.
July 18, 2018 at 8:58 am #438904Hi @alex – yes I had already enabled, I shall just add categories for events manually.
I have deleted the events CPT I had created and am using the event plugin as you requested.
Now I have a new issue that events are not showing at all now – I have added 1 of the 3 events I had before and its not showing. Even on the edit event page when I click view event – I get an error page 🙁July 18, 2018 at 9:13 am #438907‘Add event’ is also missing now from main menu drop down
July 18, 2018 at 9:35 am #438910apologies – solved the issues above myself – how ’bout that!
July 18, 2018 at 10:06 am #438919Excellent! Party time!! 🙂
