    Hi, I’m wanting to use yoasts breadcrumbs and they say add;

    <?php
    if ( function_exists(‘yoast_breadcrumb’) ) {
    yoast_breadcrumb( ‘
    <p id=”breadcrumbs”>’,'</p>
    ‘ );
    }
    ?>

    To the themes php file, I use supreme directory theme and am I correct in thinking I just need to add this to the code snippet plugin to activate it?

    Thanks.

    Hi Amy,

    Thanks for your post. Just wondering why you’re not using the GD breadcrumbs? Inserting a Yoast breadcrumb would require customization to the theme files.

    Thanks!

    I use supreme directory and it appeared it does not use them?

    I had to search the forums to find css code to add them to it.

    Listings pages did not have them and neither did details pages.

    I noticed location pages do have them but it’s at the bottom? (Hidden)

    I always thought they were so people and Google could see a trail of where they have gone.

    The code added it to my listing/details pages but on desktop they are tiny.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

    We are planning changes for Supreme for after the release of V2. You can add a feature request to move or change the breadcrumbs here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/requests/

    About your initial request, you would need to talk to Yoast about that Snippet. It Looks like it should work in the code snippets plugin, but if it doesn’t you can also try adding it to the function.php file for your active theme.

    If the information is valuable, google will index it.

    Breadcrumbs are mostly for human navigation and do not appear to influence Google way of indexing pages.

    You have 6 steps in that breadcrumbs because that listing belongs to 1 listing type and 1 of its category and it also belongs to 1 city, that belongs to 1 region that belongs to 1 country. It’s all perfectly logical and for that reason Google indexed it without problems:

    https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Ahttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.caninedirectory.co.uk%2Fholidays%2Funited-kingdom%2Forkney%2Fsaint-margarets-hope%2Fdog-friendly-bbs%2Fayre-of-cara-bed-and-breakfast%2F&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b-ab

    Now to get it to rank for any particular keyword, mainly off site SEO is needed (backlinks).

    Thanks

    Thanks for the reply, question answered in full.

    I was thinking of removing united-kingdom from all urls to make them shorter but if it does not affect it’s ranking I will leave then instead of deeling with 301.
