Any Way to Let Users "Clear Location" from Search Yet?

Hate to re-ask, but searching brings up lots of posts from over the years of people asking for this feature, which still seems to be lacking and needed/wanted. No way to make sure I’m reading a most-recent post that provides current info.

The inability to easily clear location from search is a pretty big UX problem, imho. It’s not intuitive and generates complaints/frustration. Any update on status of adding the ability to enable that, either via configuration or kludgey workaround, or making it default?
