I’m getting an admin notice stating

gd_single_closed_textshortcode has been deprecated and should be replaced with
gd_notificationsshortcode/block/widget.
on this page: https://visitshelby.com/attractions/earlscruggscenter/
what do I do to resolve this?

December 26, 2018 at 11:33 pm #460063You can edit the GD Details template and replace gd_single_closed_text with gd_notifications
December 27, 2018 at 12:30 am #460075I was hoping I could just install the plugins and use them. Over the years I’ve used a lot of different plugins and never had to do such a thing.
Since this was a test site for V2 I’m thinking about starting over with a clean install on a different domain name. I’m really on the fence about it though because I’m not sure if GD is best for a City Directory or State Directory. I know it could be used as a global directory, like Country/Region/City. I’m just not sure about it’s potential for a State/County/City versus just City.
From experience it seems GD’s search features have been pretty awkward in the past. So, I’m hoping to discern soon if V2 is better in it’s search functionality and then I’ll be better able to decide on doing a state directory or city directory. I’m assuming doing a state directory and just focus on one city at a time would be best. I’m a content developer so this could be fun and promising.
So, having said all that, I’ll do a clean install for a state directory. If that works good and it doesn’t have this issue and all the search functionality works intuitively then I’ll just ditch this issue and this issue will be a mute point.
I know I’m being a bit verbose here. I’m just hoping someone will share what they think may be best in respect to my current disposition. It’s so hard to keep waiting to build on on the new version. In the end I hope I don’t have to deal work arounds and fixing things like this and ongoing issues. Ideally it’ll just work and work with leading themes…
December 27, 2018 at 12:35 am #460077shouldn’t an update resolve this?
December 27, 2018 at 12:38 am #460078I went to editor and there is not a “details” template. It seems like GD would have a fix and update for this, not send us on a wild goose chase… lol where is this details template? I want to use the plugins, not fix them…

See the section about the GD Detail page template.
Search in pages for “GD” to find it
December 27, 2018 at 1:25 am #460083Please post V2 questions to the appropriate V2 subforum.
December 27, 2018 at 6:16 am #460101k, sorry about that. 🙂
January 1, 2019 at 4:32 pm #460949Ah, I just realized how simple this was. It was the shortcode in the design “page” template. Earlier I didn’t know you were talking about the actual “page”. I was looking in the editor and thought you guys were referring changing code in the editor. This may have been obvious to you guys. However, it wasn’t to me because I’m not used to editing the layout of the details page because in the past (for me going way back to geotheme) I really couldn’t do much if anything with the details page. And I didn’t have a clue to begin with what this notification was all about… 🙂
