I want to move the sidebar on my details page template to the left.
This was an easily-located checkbox in Supreme V1, but I can’t find a setting in V2.
If it’s gotta be CSS, that’s fine, but I’m having difficulty with that, too. : /
Tried float:left on .sd .sd-sidebar and .sd .sd-sidebar-right but no joy.Lil help? Please n thanks. : )
December 28, 2018 at 5:48 pm #460327Hi Greg,
I’ve changed that for you in Customize > ody > Sidebar.
Thanks
December 28, 2018 at 5:49 pm #460328p.s. I see you are getting close to finish V2 conversion and I’m glad 🙂
December 28, 2018 at 7:24 pm #460350First that P.S. yes, I’m so so close! It’s taken a couple hours but I think I’ve done way more than the typical amount of CSS stuff than the average bear so I kinda expected it would.
Re: the sidebar thing…yeesh, sorry, sometimes I get so tied up trying to do everything with CSS I miss things there actually ARE configuration settings for. In my defense, there aren’t very many.
On that front, a suggestion: It would be really nice if you provided two “page templates” to pick from, one for left sidebar and one for right, as on different pages they make sense on different sides. I am glad that in Supreme V2 “full width page” is now the width you define for site, vs. FULL width across the entire screen.
December 28, 2018 at 7:33 pm #460354Dangit. Right after saying that I went to remove the sidebar from my “add listings” page, and discovered that in THAT case, setting “Page Template” to full width really DID make it the full width of the screen which isn’t what I want. On to the workarounds. : /
I also wish there was a little more discrete control over which widgets appear in the sidebar. Just having the one widget manager for all “GD Pages” is kinda limiting. : /
For this Add Listings page, it’d be ideal to have the sidebar turned on, and then put information and instructions specific to the addition of places and events in it.
December 28, 2018 at 7:47 pm #460358OOH! I figured out throgh my own inconsistency how to create a page that is the width of my site, with no sidebar. Select “Full Width Page” as the template, then activate Beaver Builder. Even if you don’t USE Beaver Builder, i.e. just leave everything in one big box, it makes the page width of site with no sidebar. Sweet!
December 28, 2018 at 7:48 pm #460359Then you can add your own page-specific sidebar with whatever content you want in it. Cool.
December 28, 2018 at 7:49 pm #460360Including PAGE TITLE which is critical since I love turning off featured-header on virtually every page since I hate it, lol.
December 28, 2018 at 8:35 pm #460368Hey Paolo, I hope you’re still with me. Sorry, but I just noticed that on my Geodirectory category and search results pages the entire MAP is on the left, with listings on the right. I think that was cached the old way until now so I hadn’t noticed. I’d prefer to have that back the way it was if that’s possible, i.e. map on the right.
C’est posible? Hope so, please and thanks.
December 28, 2018 at 11:49 pm #460404The setting for the Supreme sidebar is at
Appearance – Customizer – Body – Sidebar – Blog Sidebar Position
The options available are left and right
December 28, 2018 at 11:59 pm #460411Thanks, I understand that. I need my sidebar on the left, but I want maps on Geodirectory pages (which don’t seem quite so much like a sidebar) on the right.
I was hoping (and feel like think there has to be) that there might be some discrete CSS class or container I could use to get my maps back on the right even with my sidebar settings set to left.
Does that make sense? Might be impossible, but you guys seem to have a solution for everything so I figured I’d ask.
December 29, 2018 at 1:25 am #460429No, that is not possible without a customization at this time.
There are lots of features that could be added to plugins and themes which we will come back to after we have released GDV2. I will make a note of the idea for later versions.
