Hi!
After some difficulties I now have GD V2 installed including most of the add-ons. Some of the set up was quite easy but I do have severe issues with the basic functionality. As it is a lot to write down here I attach a PDF where I tried to give you an idea of the results of all my testing. Please have a look. The search results are often useless, maps don’t show as they used to in 1.6 etc. etc. etc.The worst is that is totally inconsistent. Honestly I am at a loss to figure out what’s going on.
Best ALEX

I have repaired the issue with the category links by changing the slugs.
Please update Supreme and GD Addons and core to the latest versions.
Once you have done that, post back here and we will take another look at the other issues.
The search issue specifically must be a conflict with another plugin. Searching “Merdoc” is a good example.
January 31, 2019 at 1:41 am #466333Updated everything.
As for the conflict, don’t know. Two days ago I actually had everything running on 1.6. EVERYTHING worked fine. With all the plugins that are there now. With 1.6 I had a problem with SearchIQ. When that was activated it screwed up the search results very much like they are now. I tried some more now and Electrical Antigua took me to malfunctioning add listing page … it’s getting pretty wild.
Feel free to deactivate to figure it out but what is there now is pretty much what I need to run this project.
The one thing that did take me some time with 1.6 was to get those template pages assigned properly.
Just sharing thoughts. I truly hope we get this going.
January 31, 2019 at 2:09 am #466340Hello again,
I am not sure what happened to the pages but I restored them.
Find the setting at:
GD – Settings – General – Pages
GDV2 is different than GDV1, the pages should not be blank. They need to be populated with shortcodes or blocks that display the GD content, and you can rearrange them or add your own content, too.
If the pages are destroyed again, you have two options:
You can either delete all the pages and remove them from the trash, then use the GD Page Check tool to recreate them, or, select the button for default content, copy it, then edit the page and paste in the content.
The search works again, too, because the page has been repaired.
Right now many of the listings do not have an address. You can read the docs about how to set the default location, and then add an address to all your listings. The ones with addresses display a map:

I am looking at this now, give me a few minz…
Thanks,

January 31, 2019 at 9:06 pm #466512I still get the most useless search results.
This is a conflict with jetpack search, they have a setting to takeover search, i disabled it and it now works but the blank results page is still showing funny results, i suspect a plugin conflict as i can’t replicate on my testsite.
On the search list page there is this split page thing going on, what is supposed to go to the right side?
Its a map, i have fixed this for you, you had some CSS rules that were breaking it, i commented them out.
There is no location switcher either
I have added this for you, it is now a normal menu item so you can add it in any position under the WP menu system.
If there are any outstanding issues then let me know, i’m calling it a night just now but i will be back on in the morning to check this (i’m UK based)
Thanks,
Stiofan

The default location is set to a ‘bad’ location. Set the default location to a location with complete information.
Next, remove incomplete locations.
The first entries in these settings are ‘bad’
GD – Settings – Locations – Cities
None should have “all” – they should have complete information, not ‘all’.
If there are listings in the locations that need to be removed, do not delete them. Instead, select them and use the drop down to merge two locations together, transferring listings into the ‘good’ location while deleting the ‘bad’ location.
The featured area for Supreme is documented here:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/themes/supreme/#featured-image-theme-setting
February 1, 2019 at 8:47 am #466567I did both editing existing listings and adding city through the backend and added a new entry from the frontend. Everywhere the same result.
I will clean up the locations. All those ‘all’ locations I think are ‘inherited’ from 1.6 days.
