Show 'Featured listings' at top of search

We have moved to a support ticketing system and our forums are now closed.

    Hi,

    I’d like my search results to show ‘Featured listings’ at the top, before non-Featured listings.

    Is there a setting to enable this?

    Search returns results based on relevance of keywords in Title, Description, Categories and Tags. If a listing is featured, it is also considered more relevant.

    Search does not have sorting, though, so there isn’t a way to set all featured to pop up to the top with GD settings. Sorting options only apply to Archive pages.

    Okay that makes sense, thanks for explaining that.

    If I wanted to add the functionality to show specific listings first if they’re part of search results, what .php file contains the search function? (functions.php?)
